In a seminar in Sweden, SIME innovation day, Anil Hansjee, Head of corporate development at Google, talks about their prospective on marketing and Oprah. Anil quotes Oprah. “Do what you Love and the money will follow”. Passion and doing what you love is a core thing that soar within the entire company at Google. Partnership is another big thing, connecting and achieve exchange with people. It separates them a bit from the accustomed generalised view of a big-company whose concern is for the most part about buy-buy-buy.
Google foresees an explosion of new companies within the web 2.0 sphere. There are numerous factors behind this:
- People who do what they love.
- Each day the bandwidth increases dramtically.
- There is a start-up culture in the world today.
- Mashups.
- Creation and consumption of information.
Google’s partnership strategy is not limited by geography. When talent doesn’t want to move they adapt.
The number of develop-centres has doubled in 18 months. It’s a challenge, but they’ve realised that failure is a function of trying in the process towards success. Anil reveals Google’s view on product development:
- Focus on the users and revenue will come.
- It’s possible to make money without being evil.
- Fast is better than slow.
- There’s always more information out there.
- You don’t need to be at your desk to need an answer.

The presentation can be summarised in a mix with cliché’s blended with very wise thoughts cooked to the vision and strategy of one of the most important and most successful brands in the world. 25% of all the media investments online in the US go via Google’s system. They are in charge of 80% of all search word advertising. Despite what we might think of their reluctance to offer information (which is their whole basic idea; deliver information – now they show they also control it) about the emperor China, taking away everything that’s ever happened on critical and important events from our history. And now sell search words to anyone interested in buying Whether or not they have owners right, copyright or patent on it. Regardless of this, it knows how to build a brand. Google’s power is unmatched.
