Social network site, Facebook lost about 800 000 unique visitors between December ’07 and January ’08, analyst company Comscore released earlier. While journalists and critiques are quick to roar about the descend of the site, we of course say different.
It’s evidently not as hype and trendy as it used to be.
But it still reached the mega-barrier of 100 million users in January. It is the 16th most visited site in the US. And it continues to fill a gap in some peoples life, and is expanding its usage-ability from just “Hey dude, we met in Roskilde ’93, remember?” – occasional meetings, to people getting jobs (and not just random job, but even high profile positions, please see the next post) and things yet to be discovered. I’m not gonna defend it too much, I think it has done its part, and the struggle to earn money on the ads appeared to be much more difficult then some could ever expect. But I’m pretty sure we haven’t seen the last of it for a while.
